Hi Sean,

Thanks for this very moving post.

I've never been in the military, and don't attend Remembrance Day ceremonies because I refuse to celebrate war and killing.

Thanks for speaking out, and I'm so sorry about the trauma being in the military has caused you. And I feel horrible about what's going on in Palestine too, and how the west is supporting Israel as it destroys Gaza, committing genocide there.

Here's a song that comes to mind. You probably already know it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnFzCmAyOp8

Take good care.

Thanks Diana, I know that song well. I have a playlist of songs I listen to now & again, and that one is among them. 💙

My son made a FB post the other day on the anniversary of the following event: His squad was walking down a road in Fallujah. Christian saw a soft spot in the road which he speared with his bayonet out of anger with his SS. The knife hit something. Christian yelled, "IED....RUN!!" Fellow marine didn't believe him and proceeded to dig it up. It cost him his life. Look people. These are basically teenagers that make bad decisions. My son was spared. Another mother's wasn't. Do everything in your power to keep your children out of the military.
