Lovin’ this! Further evidence, if any was needed, that “Israel” is just another exercise in the European colonialist tradition, and that finally, once and for all, we can put an end to this bullshit.
I know that I wouldn’t thrive in an Arab community. And I have long suspected that their religiosity kills all spirit of inquiry, and that the vast majority of the Muslim world’s mind is lost in a pea soup fog of ignorance and superstition, that hasn’t changed much since (let’s be generous) the 12th century. Not wild about the way women are treated by Arabs either… and I don’t see any reason to hope for an Arab version of The Enlightenment to occur.
That said, I admire their generosity, their adherence to the tradition of hospitality towards strangers. The food is great. Some of the art and architecture really impressive. I suspect they “gel” around Islam like the Catholic Irish clung to their religion. It’s a way to flip an adversary the bird. I would bet there are plenty of Arab and other Muslim people who don’t give a fig about Islam, but would never admit to it. The Islamic world is ripe for an evolutionary step forward: what form that will take is unclear. They might shake off their religiosity, they might double down on it. Hard to say.
Right… I get it. Catholic churches in Europe are populated by old women in black.
Well, I think their intellectual rigidity and group think comes from the fact that they are oppressed, so they find comfort in expressing themselves in a group setting that happens to take place in a mosque. They cling to these outward cultural signifiers in the face of an aggressive oppressor whose intent is to erase them from the face of the earth and the history of the region.
Good to see scientific evidence for supporting the historical work of Shlomo Sand (“The Invention of the Jewish People” and “The Invention of the Land of Israel”). As Sand remarked there is no evidence that the ancient Hebrews were expelled en masse from Palestine after the revolts of the first and second centuries CE. He further hypothesized that most people today who identify as Jews are descendants of converts from various parts of the World. As a retort to zionism I like to imagine if some Buddhists decided that Bihar State in India, where the Buddha lived and taught 2,500 years ago, was their homeland and they had the divine right to expel the Hindus, Muslims and Christians now living there. Of course that would be seen as absurd.
it is also interesting to note that Judaism is passed down via the mother and throughout history men have tended to take wives from outside their community for obvious reasons... plus "races" are a European construct as there is only one... We are all Human.
You should read The Privileged Sex by Martin van Creveld (Jewish historian). He points out that Jewish women have often cheated with non-Jews and given birth to children that are only considered Jewish because of that woman. All modern Jews are European (Khazar(so-called Askenazi) - proven by genetic studies) in origin, and they have no ancient Israelite DNA. The studies have been successfully repeated and Ostrer's statements have been proven wrong. Which means mass conversion rather than blood DNA.
Actually these studies have a long track record. Ostrer's work was accepted w/o serious questioning. Alhaik's study, first published in 2012 was not the first to state these things, just the first to give overwhelming evidence. His work has been accepted worldwide, been repeated in the ensuing years, and he continues to successfully defend this work. It's not just one geneticist. It's several teams of geneticists.

The science of genetics says otherwise.

Would it, Malcolm? Would it indeed? 🤔. I long for the return to Bihar!
Somewhat off topic, but could you pass Malcolm a note in study halll asking why he blocked me.
And Oppenheim? It sounds like you prefer science to be wrong.

Yeah. I had a Jewish co worker who told me if his daughter married a non-Jew she was disowned.
Sounds like the dad is a lovely Zionist as well as an antisemitic…
No. Your sources are completely biased and discredited by someone with no axe to grind.

Wikipedia? Rather than the scientific journals? Are you serious?
