Somehow your poignant post reminds me of a cartoon I saw in the 1990s.. where bombs were raining from the sky over the heads of Serbian villagers and one man said to his cowing wife.. "Don't worry, dear they're NATO bombs". I certainly learned enough in my 17 years in the Army to where my.. now twenty five year old son.. knew better than to ever join.
