I’m with you on this brother.

We chewed different dirt in different times & in different places & did things we wished we never had to & in doing so we crossed the rubicon.

Although not my flag, not my Corps or units…this sums up my experience…

That's powerful Hurt. I can't count the myriad of times I've had those words Johnny Cash sang seared in my heart, "what have I become" and wanting a do-over to stay far away. Thanks for that video.

I can’t say “my pleasure”

We handed over to them…one Corps of Marines to another. It was a pile of dirt & for nothing.

To many good people lost forever. Thousands of poor civilians killed, wounded, terrorised & displaced.

For nothing.

On my second tour there in 06-07 I knew how it would end.

Ultimately I lost 19 of my closest friends there or to suicide as a result. That’s 19 names & numbers on my phone.

The GWOT started when I was at the Rank of E-7, & I retired at E-8…I was (although unaware at the time) totally fucked by retirement time.

I’m really enjoying your musings.

Stay strong.

American boys and men will be called upon, but how many will go?

The start is in the reading. Currently there are ~6000, including snipers sent previously and 3500 "elite combat troops". Not enough? Want to see more? You will, no matter what Biden or Trump say publicly.
