From the 'founders' to the mormons, from the genocide of indigenous peoples around the world to here at home, from the hypocrisies and atrocities of imperial revisionist history - textbook examples of historical truth and reality! Thank you, Sean!!!!
We not only " invaded Iraq, Afghanistan [and] encroached into Pakistan." We have been involved in (and probably bombed) Niger, Somalia, Syria, and elsewhere -- much of that under Nobel Peace laureate Obama. Biden is worse, of course, and Trump represents the worst of the lot. However, the pattern from the beginning has always been criminal.
That’s an excellent point. The U.S. is the worst offender in history, based on scope and shear numbers. The odds of my ever being able to celebrate are close to 0, unfortunately!
Yes, I think that the 4th of July is an excellent time for Americans to look back on what we were meant to be versus what we have become. The Beacon of Light now emanates from the fires we have lit all around the world.
Sean, I'm responding here to another Post, for obvious reasons. The Chris Hedges Report: Once again I'm prevented from making a comment because of a paywall (so trumpian, so.....capitalist!). The shame is that Chris Hedges, in his visionary essay "My Thoughts On the Attempted Trump Assasination" has put our contemporary situation in a breathtakingly truthful perspective - brilliantly identifying what is imperative if our contemporary circumstances have a chance to avoid absolute oblivion (or a horrifying, authoritarian dystopia - which is the same thing!). Because his message is so important, I'll have to find another way to promote it other than by commenting on his thread. Pity!
'Stop listening to ecclesiastical and political propaganda. Start getting yourself educated.'
Yeah, fully agreed, Sean. Well-written and insightful article on the US empire's history and how religion plays an important role in it.

yes… truly criminal…
We kicked out the British only to have Zionists take over. I won't celebrate July 4th until America is truly free!
Will you wait until all states/countries/people are free. Especially those we imprison?

indeed a long comprehensive history…
and appropriate for 4th of july perusing.

I’ll have to look that up tomorrow. I don't like the paywalls.
